Update

I know I’ve been M.I.A lately. I lost a lot of followers from the lack of posts, but don’t worry I’m still here! 

I’ve been so busy lately (studying for the GRE, applying for Grad schools, etc) 

But I’ve still been making time to exercise every single day, and have been eating relatively healthy. Yoga is my new favorite thing ever!! I want to become a yoga teacher! I need a lot more flexibility before I can do that though right now this is me (and a blurry simon):

Yoga this morning

was so relaxing and refreshing.

It was a good choice of class to take my last semester - I wish I would have taken it earlier. 

On another completely unrelated note:

New workout schedule

I extremely determined to get over this plateau so I’ve written out a new workout plan that’s different from what I’m used to.

Mon/Wed - 1 hour of Yoga, 1 hour of Rollerblading

Tuesday/Friday - Running ~30 minutes

Thursday/Saturday - Stationary Bike or POP Pilates ~45 minutes

Sunday - Actual Bike ride 12 - 24 miles

Hopefully this works! 

Did 2 things this week that I can say that I’m proud about.

  • Ran 2 miles without stopping to walk (huge deal for me)
  • Biked 12 miles from my house to my University

I am extremely proud of myself because these are things that I would always tell myself I could never do. I’m going to try and bike to school on Monday/Wednesday when the semester starts. 

Started my weight loss journey almost exactly a year ago

I cannot believe I have kept up my healthy lifestyle for an entire year. I have exercised (almost) every single day averaging about 1 day a week without exercise since then. 

I have lost over 20 pounds since then and I’m not planning on giving up any time soon. 

I am stronger and more fit than I’ve ever been in my entire life. This has been an amazing year! 

Just got back from Cancun!

It was so much fun!! I didn’t eat horribly and I exercised almost every single day (either at the gym or during our day-long excursions) However I gained a few pounds of water weight.  

Water was hard to come by down there in large quantities so I barely drank any everyday and drank WAY too much alcohol - I think that’s what caused most of my weight gain. If I had drank more water and less alcohol I probably could have lost weight on this vacation from how active we were!

So starting today I am detoxing - no alcohol, no salt, minimal carbs, lots of water, watery - fruit, and lean protien. 

Goal for my trip to Cancun - maintain not gain!

Last year when boyfriend and I went to Cancun (before I started working out) I literally gained 10 pounds while we were there because all we did was just sit around by the pool and get drunk.

This year I’m bringing my workout clothes and am going to utilize the hotel fitness center, also I’m going to try to keep my portions under control.

My goal was to be at my UGW/size by my Cancun trip

I leave for Cancun this Friday and I’m not anywhere near my UGW/size. 

It’s not that I didn’t try my hardest, the bottom line is that it just didn’t happen for reasons that are out of my control.

Am I discouraged and upset about it? Not really - I am not as skinny as I’ve ever been, but I am in the best shape of my life right now and I feel great about myself.

I am going to continue to strive for my UGW/size, not with a time-frame in mind, because I know if I keep on keeping on it will happen eventually and that’s all that matters to me. 

I am officially allergic to soy milk!

Yesterday I had half a glass of chocolate soy milk, about 45 seconds later my throat started feeling really tight like there was some big lump stuck in there. 10 - 15 minutes later I got this pain in my stomach that I had only experienced once before (drinking an iced soy latte about a month ago). All of this lasted for a couple hours and it was very uncomfortable. 

I will now never drink soy milk again, and will be going to the doctor to see to what extent I am allergic to soy products. 

Anyone else have this reaction to soy milk?

Vegas!

Vegas!

Just got back from 2 trips in the past two weeks

I had so much fun!! Unfortunatly I did gain a few pounds, nothing noticeable - hopefully water weight only but I’m back on track!

I am going out of town again in 2 weeks - this trip will be a little less active and I’ll have access to a lot of free food and alcohol, so hopefully I can keep myself under control. 

The resort we’re going to has a fitness center so I will be taking advantage of that (hopefully).

Okay something weird happened today in my weigh in…

Two days ago I weighed 133.4

Yesterday I weighed in at 132.8

and today I weighed in at 131.8

How is this even possible? I know weight fluctuates, but I haven’t seen a weight that low on the scale for a long time! Also, yesterday I ate a huge steak and strawberries and whipped cream, and 2 glasses of wine - I was sure that I was going to weigh in at 133 again (I always show a little bit of weight increase the day after drinking) 

Also my workout yesterday was 50 minutes of mild yoga, I barely broke a sweat. 

Maybe my 6 month platau is seriously over and my body is compensating? I really have no idea, but I’m not going to change my weight on my blog to 131 unless I see it a couple more times on the scale. 

Going to do yoga now :)

I will gain some flexibility!
